well my summer at home is over. it was relaxing, but im ready for college again! the good news is...I LEAVE FOR ITALY TOMORROW!!!!!!!!! hooray! last night i had a farewell dinner kinda thingie w/ michalina, sara, kim, daniel & mike @ la bamba. it was good to hang out with everyone, especially cuz i wont see them for a couple months. anyway, not much else goin on here. ill post more when i get back and put pix up here and everything :) HAVE AN AWESOME SUMMER B!

the best way to pull off a band aid is with one strong, sharp, painful pull. the more you ATTEMPT to gently pull at the bandage, the more it tugs at your skin, yanking out hair and ripping through (not to mention KILLING) skin cells. get the picture?
is ignorance bliss? is it better if the truth is out there and we stay in our own little protective bubble seeing only what we want to see? or eventually do we realize that we're living a lie, some of us MORE than one lie, and find ourselves feeling helpless and hopeless? or maybe it is better to know the truth. maybe if it all comes out at once, like the band aid analogy, it wont hurt as bad as tip-toe-ing around the inevitable.
i need sleep.

early saturday morning, REALLY early actually, i drove to marco island w/ michalina, laura, sara & kim. the drive was quicker than i thought it would be, and we had a lot of fun singing along to the radio (because all 5 of us are amazing singers of course). we got to our hotel, only to find out that we couldnt stay there because we werent 21. we went next door to the hilton and they gave us a room. my dad was sad he couldnt help us out hehe. we went to the beach from about 11 til 4, and swam in the pool. it was very relaxing and we met a nice boy who worked the waverunners. we went back to our room and had naptime. kim, michalina & i explored the island (aka shopped) to find a good place to have dinner. we woke up laura & sara and watched the sun set over the water.
dinner was interesting. we went to some restaurant/bar/lounge. we had some smart ass waiter who kept arguing w/ sara (which was pretty funny). all these old guys kept sitting down at the table w/ us and flirting. when nice boys OUR AGE entered the restaurant, our crazy waiter said "hey why dont u sit with the girls...everyone else has!" anyway, we talked for a while and ended up hanging out w/ them after dinner. it was a lot of fun, to say the least.
the next day, we hung out by the pool all morning and then drove home. thats pretty much the weekend update!
ive been helping my dad out w/ some filing stuff for his work. a few extra bucks is always good. other than that, im just up to the same old same old. more later...

helloooo boys and girls! i havent updated in about a month which is pretty out of character for me. this whole being home and not having a high speed connection thing is getting to me! so i havent been up to anything too exciting. ive hung out w/ diane & somer a few times and its been great seeing them. ive been to a few parties and hung out with the usual crew, which has been great as always. i have some pix that i promise im gonna put up here soon, and ill email them to people that i promised id email them to as well :)
in the meantime, IM GOING TO ROME IN 23 DAYS!!! i have a lot of reading to do before i go over there...i keep forgetting that the whole reason im going is to take class! i also got an italian language book so i know a little bit before i get there. it came with these stickers that u can put on stuff all over your house to help you learn terms and stuff. so my house looks kinda funny right now hehe
im goin to marco island w/ the girls this weekend so that will be a blast.
hope everyone is having a great summer so far. feel free to call me if anything fun is going on...springs is a little bit boring.

on wed i decided to drive up to orlando for a couple of days. my dad happened to be teaching a class in orlando at the same time, so i met him for dinner. i was really glad that i got to see at least one of my parents before i left for paris. we went to chevys where i got the best chimichanga ever and then we went to marble slab for dessert. we had a lot of fun...i cant wait til i get to go home for a month. itll be great to see my family again.
i drove to dave's and hung out with him for the night. i made him watch kill bill. i was kinda scared that he would think i was crazy for liking that movie so much (its a little weird) but he loved it.
thursday, i hung out w/ jamie all day. she went to the gym and i took a nap :) then we went to millenia. omg that mall is just heaven! i bought 2 shirts & 2 skirts at xxi. so much for saving for france!
speaking of france, i leave for atlanta tomorrow. then sara (my cousin) & i leave sunday morning. i cant even tell how excited i am!!!
anyway, i got back to gville last night and i went out to dinner w/ christi, michalina, kim, lacy, laura & kevin. texas roadhouse has the best baked potato soup ever. im really gonna miss everyone this summer. it was nice that we had a little farewell dinner. after dinner, laura, kevin & i watched big fish. it was sooooooo good. at first i thought it was a little too weird for me, but i liked it more and more every second after that.
i gotta go get packing. next update will have lots of details about france and pix too! if i dont see ya, have an amazing summer :)

my dad IM-ed me yesterday with something along the lines of "the age old question of whether or not charlie can swim has been answered...the answer is no." for those of u who are not cool enough to have met him, charlie is my dog. he happens to be the best and coolest dog of all time. well APPARENTLY he & my dad were playing ball outside and charlie fell in the pool. charlie is a welsh corgi mix so he doenst really have a proportionate body (his legs are a little bit smaller than the rest of him). so he was TRYING his best to swim and it just didnt work so my dad, probably cracking up laughing in the process, had to dive into the pool and come to his rescue. im so worried! i hope charlie isnt too traumatized...if not from the brain damage from almost drowning, then from his self-esteem falling to the floor from my dad making fun of him so much for the incident.

this is dave's final attempt at justifying the yankees' loss this past weekend:
QbanRefuG324 (11:49:50 PM): omg thats it! me and a few other Yanks fans just found out why we are slumping so badly...its a few different things. #1 - The evil hot dog chick in Section 118...apparently she looks like some witch lady and some people think she may have been a RedSox groundscrew person last year...also, as an attempt to save money, Steiny decided to get cheaper toilet paper in the facility, so we are thinking the guys dont want to hit the ball so they dont have to run because the diaper rash hurts too much, and the last thing is that we actually signed George Costanza to a job and we are using cotton jerseys...bad move...this is it, as long as we solve these problems we are back in it! Fire the Wicca RedSox groundscrew girl in sec. 118, get the TP with some soft bounce so the guys feel nice running around the bases, especially when we go back to the old Jersey material!!!! YES!!!!! YOU GUYS ARE DOOMED NOW!!! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
anyway...
i have some pix to post from xs last wed but i havent gotten around to it yet so sorry! i had my last 2 finals today. they went ok. im so glad im done. i leave for france sunday and i cant wait. then i go home for a month. then i go to italy for summer B.
this year has been one of the hardest years of my life: academically, emotionally, everything. however, it really has been one of the best years of my life. sorry if this is starting to sound cheesy, but i have grown up so much this past year. my whole outlook on life has changed a lot because certain things have really put it in perspective for me. ive made so many new friends, and grown closer with old ones. i think we've all changed so much for the better, and begun to evolve as a generation. i love my life in gainesville, i love my family even if they are miles away, i love my friends more than i ever thought i possibly could, and most of all: i love the fact that i havent been this happy in a long time. if freshman year was this good, i cant wait to see what the rest of my years at UF have in store for me. thanx for everything, u guys. have an amazing summer, holla if youre gonna be in springs (for may & june, cuz im goin to italy for the rest!) and ill see ya back in the ville soon :)

this weekend was awesome. i went to orlando and hung out w/ dave for a couple days.
i have learned that laura is in my chem lecture AND my chem lab, ian is in my bio lecture, aline is in my ab psych class, and sara & brad are both in my medical terminology class. the only class where i dont know anyone is bio lab. hooray for being from coral springs and therefore knowing EVERYONE at uf! (except that aline is from tampa)
i have a final today, one on saturday, and 2 next monday. im really not looking forward to them. but the second im done w/ them, im driving to atlanta to stay w/ my cousin, and then we're flying to paris. hell yeah :)

yesterday was awesome. i went to lunch w/ laura. i hung out w/ her in her dorm for a bit. she begged me to skip class, and finally we ended up running a few errands w/ kevin because he was visiting for the day. i went to the dazzlers orientation, which was a big fat waste of time. at night, i tried to watch as much of my game as i could before laura & kevin picked me up to go to the movies. i went to see kill bill vol2 w/ them...it was absolutely amazing. its the kinda movie where even the slightest details are just awesome, like the music. perfect. it was funny as hell too. after the movie, i called dave to find out what the final score was on the sox vs yankees game...that was kinda bitchy cuz i figured we had won, and he is a HUGE yankees fan. oops! O:) btw, we won...bitch!
i went to waffle house w/ laura & kevin for a bit, and then i came home and tried to sleep. i didnt end up asleep til about 330, which sucked cuz i had to wake up at 530 for dazzlers auditions. oy.
the auditions were good. i got cut, but i had a lot of fun. i met a lot of cool people too...i made friends w/ this girl named veronica who apparently has beef w/ kelly. we had some interesting conversations ;)
im off to orlando...have a good rest of the weekend!

christi and i are taking age of dinosaurs this semester. one of the assignments in this class is to watch the movie "walking with dinosaurs" (that discovery channel documentary) and take a test on it online. the test was due tonight at 11pm. of course, xi & i saved it for the last minute. unfortunately, so did the rest of gville. we couldnt find the movie anywhere. so we bought it off of amazon.com. the movie was supposed to come today. when we got home from class, however, there was a note on our door saying that ups was here and we werent. we missed the delivery. so he got in xi's echo and sped all over campus club trying to find the ups guy. when we realized that he wasnt in our neighborhood anymore, we started driving all over gville. about 45 mins later, we found the big brown truck. xi parked, and i ran about 1/2 a mile to catch up w/ him. i jumped over bushes and climbed over fences...it was like something out of a movie. we watched the movie (which was about 3.5 hours long), trying to focus as best as we could. we tried to entertain ourselves by making funny comments, which was almost too easy during the mating scenes, but it was no use. dinos just suck. we took the tests and were finally done. THEN, we found out that the test due date was extended to the 21st. omg kill me now.
a bunch of other crap happened today that was just bad...but its over so its ok :)
im kinda starting to stress about this summer. i really need to stay up here and get a job, but i dunno if ill be too bored or lonely. maybe i can find a job at home? grrr...

thank god moulin rouge is on tv. i know i own it, but its just better when its on tv cuz its like, youre just sitting there flipping channels and its like "yay! i LOVE this movie!"

well its that time again. we have 2 weeks left, and then this semester is over. for 2 weeks, we will sit back and relax, thinking that our classes are getting easier. we will relax, looking forward to the summer, and reflecting upon the past year of college. and then finals will sneak up on us and bite us in the ass! good luck everyone, and try not to save your studying til last minute (as im sure i will, unfortunately!)
thursday, amanda wasnt feeling well so she didnt go to class w/ me. i went to french and stats, headed home to register (as you will see below), and then took amanda w/ me to chem. i started to feel kinda shitty, so i took a little nap. amanda made me dinner, which john found quite amusing. thursday night, we attempted to watch brother bear (cuz we're both disney freaks who have never seen it) but we both fell asleep cuz we really just werent feeling well. hooray for the sick apt!
friday, i didnt go to french. amanda and i went to the swamp for lunch (which SUCKED because i couldnt get a burger...their cheese fries are AWESOME tho). then, i took her to center stage, cuz thats just her kind of place. we ran a couple of quick errands, then came home to relax. i got ready for the dazzlers workshop, and we finished watching brother bear. sara picked me up, and we went to the odome for the workshop. they taught us the dance for about 2 hours. its not a hard dance, it doesnt require too much technique, and it doesnt involve too much personality, but it is sooo fast! the speed is absolutely ridiculous, and it makes the dance a lot harder. it will involve some practice :) the workshop was cool tho, all of the dazzlers seem really nice and i got to see a bunch of my danza people who i havent seen in a while. after the workshop, sara and i got smoothies (from smoothie king, which makes me REALLY miss jamba). amanda and i hung out around the apt and made dinner. my parents got to gville around 10. i showed them around the apt for a bit...they seemed really impressed. i think they like my decorating skills :) and then we went to ben & jerrys for ice cream. they wanted to walk around downtown cuz they had never seen it before, but i decided that it probably wasnt a good idea to show my parents the downtown area around 11pm on a friday night...they might make me go home! so i gave them the DRIVING tour, away from all the drunken kids hehe.
saturday sucked. i woke up way too early, feeling sick and stressed about chemistry. my parents brought me breakfast, and then they left to go to ocala for eye doctor appointments (dont ask, its a long story). i met them down there a little bit later, after dealing w/ some crazy people on the road. i was in a really bad mood, and i couldnt get out of it. we went to chili's for lunch...it was really packed and there were 2 screaming kids. that did not help my mood. i decided that the only way for me to get OUT of my mood was to go to the ocala mall lol. the mall was crap, but they had a puppy store and i made friends w/ the jack russel :) i said goodbye to my family and drove home. i had the apt to myself for the night, so i did some chem and relaxed. dan brought analyze this over, and he kept me company for a bit.
sunday i slept til like 2pm, which is very late for me. i studied chem ALL day. i went out for chinese food w/ michalina for dinner.
yesterday, i studied all day for chem again. i think i did really well on the test. it looks like if i got an 80 or higher on that test, i only need a 62 on my final to keep my A. whooo! i went to get a frostee to celebrate (dave got me craving one lol) and picked up aline to study for our french oral exam today.
now im gonna go look over french on the treadmill...have a good one :)

monday, i went to lunch w/ laura at wendys. then i went to french, which was very amusing because my professor threw a piece of chalk at jeff's head. i went to chem and went to orlando for the night. dave was nice enough to let me stay at his place. we watched scarface, which was quite an experience hehe
it was VERY difficult to wake up tuesday morning, but somehow i made it over to brandons hotel room to pick up amanda. we got some hashbrowns at mcdonalds for breakfast and went to millenia. let me just say that i belive that is the best mall ever. i bought 2 skirts, a shirt, and of course, some stuff at good ol' victorias :) we got on the road and headed back to gville. i made amanda go to chem w/me, which was pretty funny. we went home and ate some dinner. then we went to the seder at chabad. it was a really nice service w/ awesome food.
today amanda and i met up w/ laura for lunch @ chickfla. then amanda came w/ me to french. it was funny cuz she described my professor as "what would happen if michael jackson and a camel had sex." aline liked that one ;) we went to the bookstore because amanda needed to buy some gator gear, then we went to publix w/ laura & michalina. i did some hw, and then amanda, laura & i went to chipotle for dinner. i rushed home to watch american idol on tv and the sox game on the computer. did more hw and now im exhausted (amanda passed out HOURS ago haha) so now im goin to bed :D
